8201707 Whirlpool Door Hinge
Part #: WPL 8201707
This Refrigerator Door Hinge Kit includes (2) hinges, one for each door, and makes for smooth opening and closing of your refrigerator/freezer doors. If the hinge has been damaged or has worn out, making opening and closing the door difficult, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. To replace the old hinge, you'll first need to remove the grill at the bottom of the refrigerator and support the door you're removing the hinge from with a block of wood. Disconnect the water line and remove the old hinge from the line. When installing the new hinge, you'll transfer the cam and washer from the old hinge to the new hinge, then slide it back through the water line. Tighten the hinge back down and re-attach the water line underneath the refrigerator. Repeat these steps on the other door. Be sure to check the washers on the hinge (sold separately). They may also need to be replaced. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the refrigerator and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing. Recommended Item: Refrigerator Door Closer Kit (item 4318165).
