The SxS Refrigerator Door Shelf Trim End Cap snaps into place onto the end of your refrigerator's door rail that holds items in the door shelf. Simply pull out the door rail and slide out the old end cap from the rail to replace. This part is made of white plastic and is sold individually. DIY Steps to Replace the WP2156006 Whirlpool Refrigerator Shelf Trim End Cap
1. Disconnect your refrigerator from the power source; unplug the appliance before starting your repair.
2. Empty the refrigerator of its contents and remove the shelves and trim alongside the unit. Do this carefully and set the pieces aside in a safe place.
3. Locate the broken end cap near the back of the shelf.
4. Use a flat-head screwdriver to gently pry the broken piece out of the shelf. This should reveal where the screws have gone into the top of the shelf trim.
