Step 1: Shut off the power to your Whirlpool appliance. Unplug the fridge and turn off the gas shutoff if applicable.
Step 2: Gently pry up the bottom panel of the Whirlpool appliance with a flat head screwdriver.
Step 3: Locate the two screws located at the top and bottom of the WP9724509 BUMPER on the front of the appliance.
Step 4: Unscrew the two screws with a Phillips head screwdriver or an appropriate sized socket wrench.
Step 5: Pull the old BUMPER away from the appliance.
Step 6: Place the new BUMPER into place and align the screw holes with the holes in the chassis of the appliance.
Step 7: Re-insert and tighten the screws to secure the new BUMPER.
Step 8: Replace the bottom panel of the appliance.
Step 9: Turn on the power to the appliance and test it to ensure it is working correctly.
