WP358237 Whirlpool Agitator Bolt
The Washer Agitator Bolt keeps the agitator cycle in your washer performing correctly, and has a rubber gasket and thread sealant. The bolt head is 5/16" diameter. If your washer is making an unusual noise during the wash cycle, the bolt is most likely damaged. To access the bolt, you'll first need to remove the fabric softener dispenser and then the barrier cap. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washer and novice repair experience. 1. Disconnect the power to your washing machine before beginning.
2. Remove the agitator by gently prying up with a flathead screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the plastic base of the agitator during this process.
3. Locate the WP358237 Whirlpool Agitator Bolt underneath the agitator assembly. It will be located near the center of the agitator and you will be able to see it once the agitator is removed.
4. Using an appropriate wrench or socket, remove the bolt from its mounting hole.
5. Inspect the bolt for any signs of corrosion or damage. If needed, use a wire brush or emery cloth to clean away any debris from the bolt.
6. Take the new WP358237 Whirlpool Agitator Bolt and insert it into the mounting hole. Make sure that it is properly seated in the hole and firmly tightened.
7. Reinstall the agitator assembly on top of the bolt. Make sure that the holes in the agitator line up with the bolt and secure it into place.
8. Reconnect the power to your washing machine and you should now be ready to go.
