The following parts are replaced by this product

  1. 3949550
Step 1: Unplug the Washer
Before you begin any repair, it is important to unplug the washer to prevent any electrical shock or injury.

Step 2: Access the Water Valve
Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the screws located around the back of your washer. Carefully lift off the bottom panel to gain access to the interior of the washer and locate the water valve.

Step 3: Disconnect Wiring from Old Valve
If your washer has a top-load design, you will need to remove any screws that are securing the tub and inspect the wiring harness connected to the valve. Unclip and detach the wiring from the water valve.

Step 4: Remove the Old Valve
Using a wrench, loosen and remove the mounting nut that secures the old water valve. Once the nut has been removed, pull and remove the old water valve from the washer.

Step 5: Install the New Water Valve
Take the new water valve and insert it into the opening where the old one was located. Secure the new valve with the mounting nut that was used on the old valve.

Step 6: Reattach the Wiring
Once the new water valve is securely in place, connect the wiring harness to the new valve. If necessary, use new wire nuts to ensure a secure connection.

Step 7: Replace the Bottom Panel
Carefully replace the bottom panel of your washer, making sure all screws are tightened securely.

Step 8: Plug in the Washer
Plug the washer back in and run a short cycle to test the new water valve. If everything is working correctly, your water valve replacement is complete.
