WP2186494W Whirlpool Water Filter Cap
The Refrigerator Water Filter Cap in white and is located at the base of the refrigerator. It provides a decorative cover for the filter. 1. Unplug and shut off the water supply to your Whirlpool refrigerator before beginning any maintenance.
2. Locate the water filter on the right-hand side of the fridge. You should see a red icon indicating a filter reset.
3. Unscrew the cap, which will release the system’s pressure and allow access to the filter cartridge.
4. Unscrew the filter housing and remove the old Whirlpool WP2186494W CAP-FILTER.
5. Insert the new Whirlpool WP2186494W CAP-FILTER and make sure it is fitted securely.
6. Replace the filter housing and replace the cap. Make sure the cap is firmly closed.
7. Once the new filter is installed, reset the filter by pressing and holding down the filter reset icon for at least 3 seconds.
8. Turn the water supply back on and plug the fridge back in as normal.
9. Run a glass of water from the fridge to flush the system and verify there are no leaks.
10. Your Whirlpool refrigerator is now ready to use with the new filter in place.
