The Dryer Heating Element Wire Connector may need to be replaced if your dryer takes too long to dry your clothes or if your dryer is no longer producing heat. To start this repair, pull the dryer away from the wall to access the back panel and remove the 9 screws holding the panel in place. Remove the wire from the heating block terminal and use your wire cutters to cut off the end of the wire near the terminal. The remove about a 1/4" of insulation from the end of the wire. Then you'll connect the new wire with the new nut to the existing wire. This kit Includes (1) wire with terminal and (1) wire nut. (2) ire connectors. Replacing the Whirlpool Dryer Heating Element Wide Spade Connection Wire Kit (279457)

Replacing a dryer’s heating element is easy if you follow the right instructions. If you have the Whirlpool Dryer Heating Element Wide Spade Connection Wire Kit (279457), use these steps to get the job done correctly and safely.

Tools You Will Need:

• Socket Wrench

• Screwdrivers

• Voltage Tester

Instructions:

1. Unplug the dryer and move it away from the wall.

2. Remove the back panel from the dryer by unscrewing the screws using your socket wrench.

3. Use your voltage tester to check that there is no power in the wires near the heating element.

4. Disconnect the old dryer heating element wires by unscrewing the screws with a screwdriver.

5. Attach the new wires from the Wide Spade Connection Wire Kit (279457) to the heating element.

6. Securely fasten the new wires with the screws using your screwdriver.

7. Replace the back panel and reattach it to the dryer using your socket wrench.
