Replacing the D512973 Speed Queen Washer/Dryer Push Button Switch
1. Unplug the washer/dryer from the power source.
If the unit is plugged into a wall outlet, be sure to turn off the breaker for the appropriate circuit.
2. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove the two screws located at the bottom of the front panel. Once done, carefully lift the panel up and away from the unit.
3. Locate the push button switch assembly which is located on the lower portion of the control panel. Remove the two Phillips head screws securing it to the panel.
4. Carefully unplug the electrical harness connected to the back of the old switch.
5. Gently remove the old push button switch assembly from the unit.
6. Place the new switch assembly in the same opening in the control panel and secure it with the two screws removed earlier.
7. Plug the electrical harness into the back of the new switch, being sure to match the colors of the wires.
8. Replace the front panel, lining up the screw holes, and fastening them securely with the Phillips screws.
9. Finally, plug the washer/dryer into the power source, and test the switch to ensure it works properly.
