WP8543666 Whirlpool Washer
This Top Load Washer Agitator Washer is attached to the transmission shaft right below the agitator. If this small plastic part is lost or damaged, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Once you remove the top of the agitator and loosen and remove the agitator bolt, remove the agitator from the washer. You'll then be able to access the agitator washer after removing the retaining clip from the shaft. Note that the design of this product may differ from the existing one in your appliance, but it will install and operate the same. Replacing this part will require basic tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washer or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Washing Machine Cleaner* (item W10501250) once a month to help reduce odor-causing residue that can build up in your washing machine's drain without proper care. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.
