Step-by-Step DIY Instructions on How to Replace the Whirlpool WP4449259 Whirpool Range Inner Oven Door Glass
1. Before you start, unplug your appliance from the power supply, and wear rubber gloves and safety goggles for protection.
2. Remove the oven door from the hinges. To do this, open the door, then unscrew the screws in each hinge that keeps it mounted to the wall.
3. Remove the outer oven door glass by carefully pushing it out of the door frame. Once you’ve done this, take out the screws and hardware (hinges, springs, etc.) from the inner oven door.
4. Lift off the insulation material from the back of the inner oven door by gently pushing it down. This should expose the old glass that needs to be replaced.
5. Carefully remove the old glass from the oven door by pulling it away from the frame. You may need a flathead screwdriver to loosen the adhesive. Make sure to keep all parts together in the same order in which they were removed.
6. Place the new Whirlpool WP4449259 Whirpool Range Inner Oven Door Glass into the oven door, ensuring it fits snugly in the frame.
7. Secure the glass in place with the screws or clips provided and use adhesive to ensure the glass is watertight.
