This Range Terminal Block Kit connects the wire harness to the surface element. If the surface element works intermittently, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. Replacing a Whirlpool Range Surface Burner Receptacle Kit: DIY Instructions
1. Gather the necessary materials. You will need the replacement kit, which is the 12001676 Whirlpool Range Surface Burner Receptacle Kit, as well as a Phillips screwdriver and needle-nose pliers.
2. Unplug the range from the wall outlet and shut off the power to the range at your circuit breaker.
3. Locate the existing receptacle kit. This should be located underneath the burner on the range or behind the control panel of the range.
4. Once you have located the existing kit, unscrew it using the Phillips screwdriver. Disconnect the wires and remove the existing kit.
5. Take the new 12001676 Whirlpool Range Surface Burner Receptacle Kit and connect the wires. Make sure they are properly connected and secure them with the needle-nose pliers.
