Replacing the GE WR2X8474 Grommet

DIY Guide

Replacing your GE WR2X8474 Grommet doesn't have to be a challenging experience. In this guide, you'll be provided with easy-to-follow instructions for replacing the grommet quickly and effectively.

Tools and Materials Needed:

• Phillips head screwdriver

• Pliers

• Plumber’s tape

• New GE WR2X8474 Grommet

Step 1: Shut off the water supply to the appliance. You don’t want to start replacing the grommet while the water is still running.

Step 2: Unscrew the screws on the side of the appliance that are holding the broken grommet in place.

Step 3: Remove the old grommet and discard it.

Step 4: Wrap some plumber’s tape around the threads of the new grommet. This will ensure a tight seal.

Step 5: Insert the new grommet into the appliance.

Step 6: Use a pair of pliers to make sure the grommet is securely in place.

Step 7: Replace the screws that were previously removed.

Step 8: Turn the water supply back on to the appliance.

Step 9: Test the grommet by turning the water on and off. Make sure there are no leaks.

You’ve now successfully replaced the GE WR2X8474 Grommet! If the grommet wasn’t replaced correctly or the seals on the grommet leak, shut the water off again and recheck your work.

Please keep in mind, these instructions are for general guidance and should always be used in conjunction with the manufacturer's manual, if available.
