The French Door Refrigerator Door Gasket is a new white rubber door seal measuring 23-1/4" H x 19-3/4" W. If one of the appliance doors won't close properly or you can feel cold air escaping the appliance, replacing the rubber gasket may alleviate these issues. Note that door seal gaskets may also compress over time, causing the appliance to work harder to maintain a constant, cool temperature. To remove any creases or wrinkles from the new gasket, set it in the sun or place it in hot water for a few minutes. First, unplug the refrigerator from the power outlet. Then, use your putty knife to carefully pry off the old gasket-FIP along the edges. Work carefully and slowly to avoid damaging the refrigerator frame or door. Then, remove any remaining adhesive or remnants of the old gasket-FIP.
Step 3: Installing the New Gasket-FIP
