Replacing the Whirlpool WP2223877 LATCH
Tools Required:
-Phillips screwdriver
-Flat head screwdriver
-New latch assembly
Step 1: First, you will need to unplug the power cord to your Whirlpool appliance and shut off the power.
Step 2: Once power is shut off, use a flat head screwdriver to carefully pry off the plastic cover on the top of the door. Be sure to take caution not to damage the plastic cover as you pull it off.
Step 3: After the cover has been removed, you should see two screws securing the existing latch assembly.
Step 4: Use a Phillips screwdriver to unscrew both screws, then remove the existing latch assembly.
Step 5: Take your new Whirlpool WP2223877 LATCH and place it into the opening where the old latch assembly was.
Step 6: Secure the new latch assembly with the two screws that you previously removed from the old latch assembly.
Step 7: Replace the plastic cover on the top of the door.
Step 8: Plug the power cord into the wall outlet and turn the power back on.
You have now successfully replaced the Whirlpool WP2223877 LATCH!
