Replacing the EDR2RXD1 Whirlpool Refrigerator Ice and Water Filter 2
Gaining access to the filter:
1. Locate the water filter housing in the ceiling of the refrigerator compartment.
2. Twist the filter 1/4 turn counterclockwise to unlock and remove.
Replacing the filter:
1. Check the new filter for proper orientation. The arrow on the side of the filter should point toward the refrigerator wall.
2. Insert the filter into the housing.
3. Twist the new filter 1/4 turn clockwise until it is properly seated.
4. Reset the “change filter†indicator light, if your model has one.
5. End by flushing the new filter with one to two gallons of cold water to improve taste and reduce air bubbles.
Tips for optimizing your DIY experience:
• Always read and follow the directions provided with the new filter before starting installation.
• Make sure you turn off the water supply to the refrigerator before beginning the process.
• Have a bucket handy in case of any spills or leaks.
