This Range Element Receptacle and Wire Kit connects the surface elements of your range to the wiring harness. This kit includes (2) brackets (you'll only use one that matches your receptacle),(2) wires, (2) wire nuts, (2) pieces of heat-shrink wrap, and the receptacle. If your element is not heating, the connections may have shorted out. To access the part, remove the element that isn't working properly from your range, and the drip pan. Lift the top of the range and unscrew the old receptacle block. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the range and novice repair experience. You must unplug the range or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Recommended Item: Wire Splicing Tool, 8-1/4". Step 1 - Unplug Your Appliance
Before you start replacing your Whirlpool Receptacle Kit, it is important to make sure your appliance is unplugged from any power sources. This will ensure the safety of yourself and your appliance when completing the repair.

Step 2 - Remove the Access Panel
Once unplugged, locate the access panel on your appliance. You may need to unscrew this to remove it from the appliance. Once removed, set it aside.

Step 3 - Locate the Receptacle Kit

Once the new receptacle kit is installed, test it by plugging the appliance back in and turning it on. Make sure everything is working properly before reattaching the access panel.

Step 7 - Reattach the Access Panel
Once you’ve tested the new receptacle kit, you can now reattach the access panel. Make sure all of the screws are tightened securely, ensuring that the panel is firmly in place.
