Replacing the WPW10248011 Whirlpool Refrigerator Door Closing Cam
Tools Needed:
-Phillips head screwdriver
-Flathead screwdriver
-Replacement Whirlpool closing cam (Part #WPW10248011)
Instructions
1. Unplug the refrigerator from the wall outlet and lay a protective covering over the floor where you are working.
2. Remove the top hinge cover of the refrigerator door by sliding a flathead screwdriver into the gap next to the hinge and twisting it slightly until it pops off.
3. Remove the screws that are holding the door in place with a Phillips head screwdriver.
4. Lift the door off its hinges and lay it on the protective covering.
5. Locate the existing cam hole on the side of the refrigerator body and remove the old cam by pushing the pin out of it with a flathead screwdriver.
6. Insert the new cam into the hole and ensure it is firmly in place by pushing the pin through the cam and the refrigerator body.
7. Reattach the door to its hinges and replace the screws.
8. Put the top hinge cover back into place and reconnect your refrigerator to its power source.
9. Test that your door is working properly.
