Replacing the Whirlpool WP99002659 IMPELLER
Step 1: Unplug power from the Whirlpool Washer. Make sure that there is no power running to the appliance before beginning the replacement process.
Step 2: Carefully unplug any hoses, wires or other parts connected to the washer. It may be helpful to lay these out on a towel or workbench to ensure that they don’t get misplaced.
Step 3: Use a socket wrench to unscrew and remove the housing cover. As you do so, carefully note the placement of any removed screws and nuts, as they will need to be replaced later.
Step 4: Inside you will find the impeller. Take a screwdriver and carefully unscrew it. You may also need to use a pair of pliers to help. Using a rag, carefully remove the old impeller, being careful not to let any metal pieces fall into the motor.
Step 5: Take your new impeller and carefully place it into the motor. The impeller should fit snugly in the housing, but if it is too tight or loose, you may need to make adjustments.
Step 6: Replace the housing cover and any screws or fasteners you removed.
Step 7: Plug the hoses, wires and other components back into the washer in their original spots.
Step 8: Plug the washer back into the power outlet and double check all connections to ensure everything is secure.
Step 9: Turn on the washer and verify that the impeller is working properly by listening for its sound.
Congratulations! You have successfully replaced the Whirlpool WP99002659 IMPELLER.
