Step 1: Unplug the washing machine’s power cord from the wall outlet and shut off the water inlet valves.
Step 2: Lift the washer lid from the top and locate both “Hot†and “Cold†water hoses. Disconnect the hoses from their respective water source by unscrewing the fitting at the base of each hose. Allow the remaining water that is inside the hoses to drain out.
Step 3: Place a large cloth or towel on the floor directly beneath the rear end of the washer. Locate the service panel that is located on the back of the machine, directly underneath the lid. There will be multiple screws that need to be removed. Remove all of the screws and carefully pull the service panel away from the body of the washer.
Step 4: Carefully lift the existing arm-shutoff out of the machine, being careful not to lose any of the parts that may have come loose with it. Install the new Whirlpool W11559683 arm-shutoff by reversing the steps that you used to remove the old one. Secure the arm-shutoff in place by tightening all of the screws firmly.
Step 5: Replace the service panel back onto the rear of the washer and secure it in place using the original screws. Reconnect the “Hot†and “Cold†water hoses to the respective water sources. Turn the water inlet valves back on and plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
