WPW10224430 Whirlpool Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser
The Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser contains and releases the appliance’s detergent and rinse aid during the cleaning cycle. If the detergent assembly of your dishwasher does not dispense these items properly, then this part will need to be replaced. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dishwasher and novice repair experience. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Dishwasher Cleaner (item W10282479) to help remove limescale and mineral build-up that can be unsightly and affect your dishwasher’s performance. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

1. Unplug the dishwasher before beginning any repairs.
2. Locate the screws on the outer frame of the dishwasher, and remove them using a Phillips-head screwdriver or a hex wrench.
3. Open the dishwasher door and locate the detergent dispenser.
4. Remove the two screws that secure the detergent dispenser to the inner wall of the dishwasher with a Phillips-head screwdriver or a hex wrench.
5. Gently pull the detergent dispenser out from the inner wall of the dishwasher.
6. Disconnect the electrical connections from the detergent dispenser.
7. Remove the old dispenser from the dishwasher and set aside.
8. Take the new WPW10224430 Whirlpool Dishwasher Detergent Dispenser and line up the electrical connections with the slots on the back of the dispenser.
9. Secure the dispenser to the inner wall of the dishwasher using the two screws.
10. Reattach the outer frame of the dishwasher using the screws.
11. Turn the power back on and test the new detergent dispenser.
12. Once you have confirmed the new dispenser is working properly, you can close the dishwasher door and begin using the new detergent dispenser.
