1. Unplug the refrigerator from the wall or shut off the power at the breaker or fuse box.
2. Remove the screws attaching the ice maker to the back wall of the freezer compartment.
3. Lift the ice maker out of the unit carefully.
4. Disconnect the water line and electrical wire connected to the old ice maker.
5. Check that the new Whirlpool W11512149 Ice Maker is compatible with your freezer.
6. Slide the new ice maker into place, making sure it fits snugly.
7. Reattach the screws that hold the ice maker in place.
8. Connect the electrical wire from the new ice maker to the back of the freezer.
9. Connect the new water line to the back of the freezer, making sure that it is firmly attached.
10. Plug the refrigerator back in and turn it on.
11. Allow 24 hours for the ice maker to begin producing ice.
