Step 1: Unplug the refrigerator before beginning this DIY project.
Step 2: Locate the water dispenser actuator on the outside of the refrigerator. It is usually located near or on the dispenser lever.
Step 3: Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the two screws that are securing the old actuator in place.
Step 4: Pull the old actuator away from the refrigerator wall and disconnect the electrical wires from the back of the actuator.
Step 5: Take the new actuator and reconnect the electrical wiring. Make sure all connections are secure.
Step 6: Place the new actuator back into the hole and secure it in place by replacing the two screws.
Step 7: Plug the refrigerator back in and test the water dispenser to make sure it is working properly.
Step 8: If it is not functioning correctly, you may need to adjust the water pressure by adjusting the shutoff valve or the water filter.
