W10772621 Whirlpool Washplate Screw
This Top Load Washer Screw is used to attach the washplate inside the appliance. Each screw is sold separately. This is an accessory part that can be used across several brands; check to see if your model number is compatible. Installing this screw will require basic hand tools and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before beginning the repair. Replacing the W10772621 Whirlpool Washerplate DIY Instructions
1. Unplug your Whirlpool washing machine from the wall outlet and turn off the water supply.
2. Move the washing machine away from the wall to access the back side of the washer.
3. Look for the two screws that hold the washerplate in place. Remove the screws with a Philips-head screwdriver.
4. Pull the washerplate off the machine and have a helper support it while you detach the hoses connected to the unit.
5. Place a towel underneath the washerplate to catch any water that may leak out.
6. Take the old washerplate and measure the distance between the two mounting points. This will help you determine the size of the new washerplate.
7. Purchase the W10772621 Whirlpool Washerplate from your local appliance parts store.
8. Place the new washerplate over the two mounting points and secure it with the two screws. Make sure the new washerplate is secured firmly in place.
9. Reattach any hoses that were removed earlier. Make sure they are securely connected to the washerplate.
10. Plug your washing machine back into the wall outlet and turn on the water supply.
11. Test the new washerplate by running a short cycle.
