Replacing the Whirlpool WPW10274880 Switch - DIY Instructions
Tools Required:
-Safety glasses
-Screwdriver
-Pliers
-Voltmeter
Step 1: Unplug any power sources connected to the Whirlpool range. This includes the electric power cord and any gas services connected.
Step 2: Inspect the back of the range and locate the Whirlpool WPW10274880 Switch. It should be a black switch mounted onto the back of the range, near the power outlets.
Step 3: Using a screwdriver, remove the two screws that attach the Whirlpool WPW10274880 switch to the back of the range. This may take some extra effort as the screws may be slightly corroded or stuck.
Step 4: Disconnect the power cables from the Whirlpool WPW10274880 switch and make sure to store them in a safe place.
Step 5: Get a new Whirlpool WPW10274880 switch and connect it to the power sources you removed earlier. Make sure to connect the correct cables to each socket on the switch.
Step 6: To make sure that the new Whirlpool WPW10274880 switch is properly installed and functioning, use a voltmeter to check the power readings.
