This Top Load Washer Lid Hinge Pin allows the lid of your front-load washer to open properly and with ease. If the lid of your appliance won’t open at all or feels like it's getting caught, replacing the lid hinge pin will alleviate these issues. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. DIY Instructions for Replacing the WP35-2045 Whirlpool Washer Lid Hinge Pin
1. Unplug the Whirlpool washer and move it away from the wall.
2. Prop the washer lid open with a pair of sturdy scissors or other object, so that you can access the hinge pin easily.
3.Remove the two screws located at the top of the washer lid with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
4. Lift the back of the lid to remove the washer lid hinge pin.
5. Insert the new WP35-2045 Whirlpool washer lid hinge pin into the slot that the previous pin was removed from.
6. Replace the two screws into the top of the washer lid, then tighten them firmly.
7. Plug the washer back in and test to make sure that the lid opens and closes properly with its new hinge pin.
