WP35-2044 Whirlpool Lid Hinge
This Top Load Washer Lid Hinge connects the lid to the top panel and allows the lid to pivot open and closed with ease. If the lid of your appliance won’t open at all or feels like it's getting caught, replacing the lid hinge may alleviate these issues. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the washing machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off your hot and cold water supplies. Replacing the Whirlpool WP35-2044 Hinge-Lid
1. Begin by unplugging the dryer and then moving it away from the wall.
2. Remove the front panel of the dryer, exposing the interior.
3. Take a Phillips head screwdriver and remove the screws holding the lid hinge to the dryer frame.
4. Remove the old hinge and set it aside.
5. Take the new hinge and place it over the hole in the dryer where the old hinge was located.
6. Secure the new hinge using the Phillips head screwdriver.
7. Replace the front panel.
8. Move the dryer back into position, plugging it back in.
9. Open and close the door several times to ensure the newly installed hinge is working properly.
10. Make sure all screws are tightened properly for a safe and secure installation.
