WPW10117655 Whirlpool Dryer Start Switch
The Dryer Start Switch is a 2-terminal push-to-start switch that initiates the drying cycle. If the current start switch of your appliance is no longer functioning properly, the dryer will not start. To determine if the original part is defective before you begin the repair, use a multimeter to test for continuity. 1. Unplug the power cord to your appliance before starting any repair work.
2. Remove the trim panel over the existing switch by gently prying it with a flathead screwdriver.
3. Disconnect the wire connectors attached to the switch.
4. Carefully remove the existing switch by unscrewing the two mounting screws and then pulling it away from the panel.
5. Install the new Whirlpool WPW10117655 Push-to-Start Switch into the same place as the old one.
6. Connect the wires from the power cord to the terminals on the switch.
7. Secure the switch in place with the mounting screws.
8. Replace the trim panel.
9. Plug the power cord back into the appliance.
10. Test the new switch by pushing the button and verifying that the appliance powers on.
