1. Begin by unplugging the power cord from the outlet and then turning off the gas valve if applicable.
2. Pull out the dryer away from the wall and remove the screws on the rear access panel using a Phillips screwdriver.
3. Locate the old lint filter, which is usually in the upper left corner of the dryer interior. It is usually rectangular or diamond shaped.
4. Once you have located the lint filter, carefully slide it out by firmly pulling on the handle.
