1. Begin by unplugging the power to your dryer and removing the two screws that secure the dryer door strike to the outer door frame.
2. Lift the old dryer door strike from the door frame.
3. Carefully remove the metal mounting plate from the back of the old door strike with a small flathead screwdriver or similar tool.
4. Clean the area where the new strike will be installed with a damp cloth to ensure the surface is free of dust and dirt.
5. Line up the slot in the new door strike with the metal mounting plate.
6. Secure the new strike in place with the metal mounting plate, using the same two screws that secured the old strike.
7. Make sure the gap between the strike and the dryer door frame is even and tightly sealed.
8. Plug in power to the dryer and test the operation of the newly installed door strike.
9. Finally, once you are satisfied with the installation and operation of the new strike, replace the cover over the dryer's access panel.
