WP7432P136-60 Whirlpool Oven Ignitor
The Range Bake/Broil Igniter glows white-hot to heat properly, and lives behind the access panel at the rear of your oven. If the igniter in your oven is glowing red or orange, or not glowing at all, it's most likely weak and needs to be replaced. This model is the horizontal mount with wire connector. Installing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the oven and novice repair experience. You should unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also be sure to turn the gas valve off before installing this part.

Instructions on Replacing the WP7432P136-60 Whirlpool Oven Ignitor
1. Ensure your oven is completely disconnected from any and all power sources before attempting to replace the ignitor.
2. Locate the oven's access panel, usually found at the bottom of the oven.
3. Unscrew any accessible screws holding the access panel in place, then pull back the panel to expose the inside of the oven.
4. The WP7432P136-60 ignitor is usually located alongside the oven's burner gas tube, within the front panel of the oven. Disconnect the cable connecting the ignitor to the oven control board.
5. Remove the bracket holding the ignitor in place—it should be near where the cable was originally connected.
6. Carefully reach inside the oven and pull out the ignitor. It will be a white porcelain tube with two prongs.
7. Take the new ignitor, being sure that the two prongs are aligned with the holes in the oven wall.
8. Secure the ignitor in place with its accompanying bracket.
9. Reattach the cable to the oven control board.
10. Replace the access panel and secure it in place with the screws initially used to hold it in place.
11. Turn the oven power back on and test the oven to ensure the ignitor is functioning properly. If it is, your oven is ready for use!
