Step One: Prepare Your Tools
-Turn off the power to the dryer.
-Gather the necessary supplies that you'll need for this repair, including a Phillips head screwdriver, pliers and the replacement filter, which should be the WP37001142 Whirlpool Lint Filter.
Step Two: Access the Lint Filter
-Open the dryer door and locate the lint filter inside the opening.
-Remove the two screws on either side of the filter using a Phillips head screwdriver.
-Carefully remove the lint filter without dislodging any of the surrounding wires or pipes.
Step Three: Install the Replacement Filter
-Take the replacement filter, the WP37001142 Whirlpool Lint Filter, and insert it into the opening where the old filter was located.
-Secure the filter with the screws that you removed from the old filter.
-Reconnect any of the wires or pipes that may have been disconnected during the removal of the old filter.
Step Four: Test the Dryer
-Close the dryer door and turn the power back on.
