Step 1: Unplug the Refrigerator from the Power Source
Unplug the refrigerator from the power source to ensure the safety of yourself and the appliance.
Step 2: Locate the Auto Close Lever Assembly
The Auto Close Lever Assembly can be found on the inside of the door.
Step 3: Remove the Old Auto Close Lever Assembly
Remove the two screws securing the lever assembly to the door. Unhook the wire press-fit retainer from the panel. Disconnect the wiring from the controller board. Gently pull the lever out of the door.
Step 4: Install the New Auto Close Lever Assembly
Place the new auto close lever into the door. Hook up the wiring to the controller board. Reinstall the wire press-fit retainer. Secure the lever to the door with the two screws.
Step 5: Test the Lever
Test the lever by opening and closing the door a few times, ensuring that it is working properly.
Step 6: Plug in the Refrigerator
Plug the refrigerator back into the power source.
