How to Replace the WE05X20431 GE Dryer Light Bulb, Lamp, 120V, 10W

Tools Needed: a Phillips-head screwdriver.

Step 1: Unplug the dryer. Always unplug any electrical appliance before you work on it. If your dryer is hardwired, turn off the power source at the breaker box.

Step 2: Access the lightbulb. Locate the bulb cover—a plastic or metal panel at the back of the dryer that covers the lightbulb. Depending on your model, you may need to remove the lint filter cover first. Use a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the screws securing the cover.

Step 3: Remove the lightbulb. Pull the bulb straight out from its socket and discard it.

Step 4: Install the new lightbulb. Insert the new lightbulb in the socket. Make sure the pins of the new bulb match the notches of the socket.

Step 5: Reattach the cover. Once the lightbulb is installed, reattach the cover with the screws.

Step 6: Plug in the dryer. Reattach the power cord to the wall or turn on the breaker if the dryer is hardwired.

Congratulations! You've replaced the WE05X20431 GE Dryer Light Bulb, Lamp, 120V, 10W.
