DIY Instructions on Replacing the WPW10179455 Whirlpool Drain Pump Housing
1. Unplug the power cord from its outlet before beginning the repair.
2. Push the Whirlpool washer away from the wall and locate the drain pump housing.
3. Release the clamps on either side of the drain pump housing and remove the clamps.
4. Pull the housing away from the washer to expose the drain pump.
5. Disconnect the electrical wiring from the old drain pump.
6. Remove the three screws securing the old pump to the housing.
7. Remove the old pump from the housing.
8. Install the new WPW10179455 Whirlpool drain pump into the housing.
9. Reattach the clamps to the housing and tighten securely.
10. Reconnect the electrical wiring to the pump.
11. Push the washer back against the wall and plug the power cord into the outlet.
12. Turn on the washer and test the drain pump.
