The Dishwasher Rinse Aid Cap is part of the detergent dispenser and releases the appliance’s rinse aid during the cleaning cycle. If the detergent assembly of your dishwasher does not dispense the rinse aid properly, then this cap will need to be replaced. This item measures approximately 1-1/2" D and is blue in color. Installing this part will require no tools, disassembly or repair experience. Step 1: Cut the power to your Whirlpool refrigerator by unplugging it or turning off the circuit at your home’s breaker.
Step 2: Locate the WPW10077881 Whirlpool dispenser cap on your refrigerator.
Step 3: Using a flat-head screwdriver, loosen the screws holding the old cap in place.
Step 4: Gently pull the old cap off of the dispenser and discard it.
Step 5: Take the new WPW10077881 Whirlpool dispenser cap and place it in the same position as the old one.
Step 6: Secure the new cap with the screws that you removed in Step 3.
Step 7: Turn the circuit back on or plug the refrigerator back in.
Step 8: Test the new cap by running some water through the dispenser to ensure that it is working properly.
