WP35001247 Whirlpool Heating Element
The Dryer Heating Element is strung with a coiled wire made of a nickel and a chrome alloy. If your dryer isn't heating as expected, replacing this part may alleviate the issue. This wire receives, but resists, a controlled electric current and as a result, the wire heats up. The heat produced is used to dry the clothes in your dryer. To determine if the original part is defective before you begin the repair, use a multimeter to test for continuity. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the dryer and novice repair experience.
