Step 1: Unplug the Washer – Before beginning any do-it-yourself (DIY) repair or maintenance task, make sure that the power to your washer is disconnected. This will ensure that you are safe and do not get a shock.
Step 2: Remove the Cabinet – Use a flat screwdriver to unlatch the cabinet clips holding the access panel on by pushing down on the upper portion of the clip. Then tilt the back of the panel up and slide it forward, off the track.
Step 3: Locate and Disconnect the Wiring Connections – Use a flashlight to locate the wiring connections. There will be one on each side of the skirt timer. Carefully disconnect each of the wiring connections by pressing the release tab and then pulling the connector away from the skirt timer.
Step 4: Remove the Old Skirt Timer – Remove the mounting screws from the back of the old skirt timer and then pull the timer out of the washer.
Step 5: Install New Skirt Timer – Hold the new skirt timer in place, and install the mounting screws. Reconnect the wiring connections.
Step 6: Secure the Cabinet Panels – Reattach the cabinet panels with the flat screwdriver by pressing the upper portion of the clip down until the panel is secure.
Step 7: Test the Skirt Timer – Plug the washer back in and run a quick cycle to make sure the new skirt timer is functioning properly. If everything works, you have successfully replaced the Whirlpool WP33002346 SKIRT-TIMER.
