Replacing the Whirlpool W10838574 GASKET
Tools you will need:
•Phillips-head screwdriver
•Socket wrench
•Gasket scraper
•Replacement gasket
Step 1: To begin, first make sure to unplug your dryer and turn off the gas supply valve.
Step 2: Next, remove the lint filter and the top panel of the dryer by unscrewing the screws with a Phillips-head screwdriver.
Step 3: Use the socket wrench to remove the screws on the gas valve assembly from the back of the dryer.
Step 4: Carefully pull out the gas valve assembly and remove the old gasket.
Step 5: Once the old gasket has been removed, use a gasket scraper to clean any remaining debris from the surface.
Step 6: Place the new gasket over the area where the old gasket was removed and secure it with the screws you removed in step 3.
Step 7: Reattach the gas valve assembly to the back of the dryer and replace the top panel and lint filter.
Step 8: Lastly, turn the gas supply valve back on and plug your dryer back in.
You have now successfully replaced the Whirlpool W10838574 GASKET!
