Step 1: Unplug Dishwasher
Safety is the most important factor when tackling any DIY repair. Before starting any work on your dishwasher, make sure it is unplugged from the power source to prevent any risk of electrocution.
Step 2: Remove Control Panel
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws that secure the control panel to the appliance. Carefully lift the panel to expose the wiring and electrical components located beneath it. Disconnect the wires that connect the touchpad to the main control board.
Step 3: Install New Touchpad & Control Panel
Position the replacement control panel onto the appliance, making sure to match up the holes in the new panel with the holes in the dishwasher. Secure the panel with the screws removed in step two. Reconnect the wiring harness and plug in the dishwasher.
Step 4: Test New Touchpad & Control Panel
To ensure the new touchpad and control panel assembly are working correctly, turn on the dishwasher and test all of its functions. If the dishwasher is running correctly, the repair is complete!
