12001788 Whirlpool Washer Drive Belt & Isolator Kit
This Front Load Washer Drive Belt and Isolator Kit causes your washer to spin properly during the washing cycle. If your washer won't agitate, makes an unusual sound during operation, or if there is a burning rubber smell during use, this kit may alleviate the issue. To access the part, you'll first need to remove the rear access panel of the washer. Includes instructions (1) belt (2) isolators. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. Remember to unplug the washing machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this item. Also be sure to turn off the hot and cold water supplies to your washer.

Replacing the 12001788 Whirlpool Washer Drive Belt & Isolator Kit
1. Unplug your appliance from the electrical outlet.
2. Remove the top of the washer by gently pushing against the sides to release it from the clips.
3. Unscrew the two screws on the rear of the top panel that secure the rear panel and pull the rear panel off.
4. Lift the agitator out of the washer drum and unscrew the three retaining screws that hold the belt plate onto the motor shaft.
5. Remove the old drive belt and belt covers.
6. Place the belt covers onto the motor shaft and install the new drive belt around the motor pulley and the pulleys on the agitation, drain and spin cycle plates.
7. Secure the belt plate back onto the motor shaft with the three retaining screws.
8. Place the agitator back into the washer drum and then replace the rear panel and screws.
9. Reattach the top of the washer and secure with the clips.
10. Refasten the electrical supply cord to the washer and plug into the electrical outlet.
11. Test the washer for proper operation.
