Step 1: Prepare Your Work Area – Before you begin replacing the GE WE4X692 DUAL COIL ELEMENT, it is important to prepare your workspace by removing any combustible items from the area and wearing protective gear such as safety glasses and gloves.
Step 2: Disconnect Power – Next, you will need to disconnect the power leading to the range in order to prevent any chance of electric shock or harm. This is usually accomplished by unplugging the unit from its outlet or flipping the circuit breaker at the main electrical panel.
Step 3: Access The Coil Element – Now that the power has been disconnected, locate the control panel at the front of the range. From here, you will need to remove the screws securing the access panel and carefully lift it off to expose the element.
Step 4: Remove The Existing Element – Flip the switch on the element to the “off†position, then use a socket wrench to unscrew the nuts surrounding the element and pull it free from the range.
Step 5: Install The New Element - Replace the old element with the new GE WE4X692 dual coil element, being careful to ensure that the wires are properly connected to the terminals.
Step 6: Secure The Element - Use the socket wrench to re-secure the nuts, making sure they are snugly tightened.
Step 7: Test The Element - Turn the switch on the element to the “on†position and leave it for a few minutes to ensure that the element heats up properly.
Step 8: Replace The Access Panel – Finally, replace the access panel and secure it with the original screws. You have now successfully replaced the GE WE4X692 DUAL COIL ELEMENT.
