Step 1 – Unplug the Appliance: Before replacing the GE WB26X24020 Cooling Fan Motor, make sure to unplug the appliance from its power supply.
Step 2 – Remove the Rear Panel: Carefully remove the appliance's rear panel with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Step 3 – Locate the Cooling Fan Motor: Once the rear panel is removed, locate the cooling fan motor. It will be in close proximity to the refrigerator compressor and condenser coils.
Step 4 – Remove the Old Motor: To remove the old motor, disconnect it from its power source. Then unscrew any screws that are holding it in place and carefully pull them out.
Step 5 – Install the New Motor: Once the old motor is out, install the new one. Reconnect it to its power source and secure it in place with screws.
Step 6 – Reinstall the Rear Panel: Once the new motor is in place, reinstall the rear panel. Secure it with a Phillips head screwdriver.
Step 7 – Test the Appliance: Plug the appliance back in and turn it on. Check to see if the cooling fan motor is running correctly.
