WPW10498900 Whirlpool Dishwasher Upper Spray Arm
This Dishwasher Center Wash Arm Assembly rotates and sprays to evenly distribute water during the washing cycle. You will need this kit if your spray arm is damaged and requires replacement. Replacing this part will require no disassembly or repair experience. Remember to unplug the dishwasher or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this kit. You must also turn off the water supply underneath the sink before installation.

1. Unplug or turn off the power supply to your Whirlpool dishwasher before starting any repair.
2. Open the dishwasher door and remove the lower spray arm by unscrewing it from the center shaft.
3. Locate the upper spray arm and remove its retaining nut, which may require a pair of needle-nose pliers.
4. Pull the upper spray arm away from the center shaft and set aside.
5. Insert the replacement upper spray arm into the center shaft and secure with the retained nut.
6. Re-insert the lower spray arm into the center shaft and tighten with a screwdriver.
7. Close the dishwasher door and test the new upper spray arm for proper operation.
8. Clean the door seal gasket with mild soap and water if necessary.
9. Plug in or turn on the power supply to your Whirlpool dishwasher.
10. Finally, run a maintenance cycle with a dishwasher cleaner such as Affresh to ensure that the new spray arm is functioning properly.
