1. Start by unplugging the power cord of your Whirlpool Washer from the wall outlet.
2. Turn off the water supply valves near the washer.
3. Disconnect both of the hoses running from the water inlet valve to the back of the washer. If there is any remaining water in the hoses and the washer, drain it out into a bucket or other container.
4. Remove the screws/bolts holding the water inlet valve in place and carefully remove it from the washer.
5. Install the new W11220230 Whirlpool Washer Water Inlet Valve in the same spot the old one was, making sure all connections are secure.
6. Reconnect the hoses from the water inlet valve to the back of the washer.
7. Turn the water supply valves back on and let several buckets of water run into the washer to check for any leaks.
8. Once you are satisfied that there are no leaks, plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and test the washer to make sure it is working correctly.
