1. Begin By Unplugging the W11025614 Rail-Mullion From the Power Source: Before you begin any DIY repair, it is important to make sure the power is off to the unit. Unplug the W11025614 Rail-Mullion from the power source or turn off the circuit breaker for safety.
2. Remove the Damper and Grill Cover: Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the screws from the grill cover in order to access the damper. Once removed, gently pull the grill cover to remove it and set aside. With the grill cover removed, reach inside and grab the damper, pulling it out of the unit.
3. Disconnect and Remove the Old Rail-Mullion: With the damper removed and the grill cover off-set aside, locate the existing Rail-Mullion. Using a wrench, loosen the screws that secure the brackets that hold the Rail-Mullion in place. Once the screws have been loosened, carefully lift the Rail-Mullion out of the unit and then disconnect the wires that are connected to it.
4. Install the New W11025614 Rail-Mullion: With the old Rail-Mullion removed, it’s time to insert the new one. Line up the slots on the legs of the new Rail-Mullion with the brackets in the Whirlpool unit and then gently insert it into place. Secure the Rail-Mullion by tightening the screws on the brackets.
5. Reassemble the Grill Cover and Damper: With the new Rail-Mullion installed and secured, replace the damper and reattach the grill cover using the screws that were removed in Step 2. Make sure the screws are tight and the grill cover is secured before proceeding to the next step.
6. Plug In and Test the Unit: Once all of the screws have been tightened and the grill cover secure, plug the unit back into the power source and turn it on. Test the unit to make sure the Rail-Mullion is functioning properly. If everything appears to be working correctly, you have successfully completed your repair.
