The new igniter may not have connections attached to its wire ends, so you'll have to cut the connections off of the old igniter, strip the wires, and use the included wire nuts with the new igniter. This Gas Range Surface Igniter provides spark to the burner to ignite the gas and initiate the cooking process. This igniter features a spark electrode with a male spade conne ...ction. If your range’s igniter is no longer providing a spark to light the burner, the wire may be shorted out or the porcelain casing may be cracked. Replacing the part may alleviate these issues.
