1. Unplug the washing machine power cord and shut off any water valves connected to the unit.
2. Remove the agitator (if applicable) by unscrewing the retaining ring beneath the agitator and pulling the agitator up and out of the washing machine tub.
3. Use a flathead screwdriver to remove the screws holding the WH1X2727 GE tub support strap. Pull the strap off the tub.
4. Place the new tub support strap into position, ensuring that the strap's ends fit snugly around the sides of the tub. Secure the strap in place with the screws you removed.
5. Replace the agitator (if applicable), lower it back into position and secure it with the retaining ring.
6. Reconnect the washing machine power cord and open the water valves to restore power and water to the washing machine.
7. Test the washing machine by running a cycle to ensure that the new strap is properly working.
