-New GE WH03X30517 Mode Shifter
-Phillips Head Screwdriver
-Flathead Screwdriver
Step 1: Unplug the dryer from the wall socket and turn off the power supply. This will ensure there is no power running through the appliance while you are performing the repair.
Step 2: Remove the top of the dryer using the Phillips Head Screwdriver to loosen and remove the screws. Once all the screws are removed, carefully lift up the top of the dryer.
Step 3: Locate the mode shifter. It is located in the appliance's rear and attached to the timer knob. Use the flathead screwdriver to loosen the screws that secure the mode shifter in place.
Step 4: Disconnect the wires from the old mode shifter and then unscrew them from the timer knob.
Step 5: Insert the new mode shifter into the timer knob, making sure it is lined up properly. Secure it in place with the screws.
Step 6: Reconnect the wires to the new mode shifter.
