1. Before you begin, make sure the power to the appliance is turned off. Then, unplug the appliance to be sure it is completely without power.
2. The next step is to locate the GE WH02X29999 Short Shipping Bolt which attaches the inner basket to the outer drum. This bolt can be found on the outside of the outer drum and may be covered by a panel.
3. Once the panel is removed, use a Phillips screwdriver to carefully remove the two screws holding the bolts in place.
4. With the screws removed, use a large flathead screwdriver to loosen the bolt.
5. You may need to use a small amount of oil or WD-40 to help loosen the bolt if necessary.
6. Next, remove the existing bolt and replace it with the new GE WH02X29999 Short Shipping Bolt.
7. Use the Phillips screwdriver to reinstall the two screws that were removed.
8. Carefully place the panel back over the bolt, being sure to line up all the screws correctly.
9. Finally, turn the power back on to the appliance and plug it in to complete the installation.
