Sometimes the body of the switch cracks from slamming the washer lid over time, or the internal switch fails and is no longer able to tell the washer the lid is closed. Remove the inner screws on the top of the console and pull the console down to access the part. Note: When disconnecting the wires from the old assembly, make sure you note which wires go where. Also, when securing the new assembly with its 5/16-inch screw, make sure your switch adjustment is correct when tightening by waiting for the click of the black switch.
